Winter is coming! It’s time to bundle up in a cozy blanket and curl up beside the fireplace. But not for these fearless feline warriors! Four year old Sämpy and his friends Hiskias Hääppönen, Elmeri, and Nelli from Northern Finland are absolute outdoors maniacs. Photographer Riikka Hedman, the owner and publicity agent of the cats, regularly posts their amusing antics on Instagram, where the fast and furry-ous have a large, dedicated following.
These freeze-proof giants have long hair and gorgeous thick tails – the traits of the Norwegian Forest cat breed. According to their owner, Sämpy is a Finnish Domestic cat. But with his fierce look and imposing posture, Sämpy is definitely wild at heart.
The cats are active and playful all year round. When winter comes, the band loves to roam in the snow-covered fields where they pretend to hunt each other and jump over anything in their way.
